2018 Pan-American Iaido Goodwill Taikai

The 2018 PAIGT was held on December 2, 2019 in Toronto (Canada). It featured teams from across the Americas, including Canada, Chile, Mexico, and the USA. The taikai consisted of two (2) separate tournaments, a national team competition and a mixed team competition. Both were structured as a round-robin, with the podium position determine by total points of all matches.

The PAIGT 2018 Team fought valiantly, placing 2nd with a final round-robin score of (5.15), behind the USA (7.21). Finishing 3rd were Chile (3.11) and Mexico (3.07).
The Goodwill competition ended with a thrilling sudden-death match where the winning team’s representative from Canada avenged the national team’s defeat by overcoming the second place team’s representative from the USA. The final result saw Hanna’s team, Atsuki’s Fantasico (6.18) earning 1st, David’s team, Senshin (6.18) achieving 2nd, and Sandy’s team, Olivia’s Fantasico (4.13) tied for 3rd with Espados Hermanos (2.05).
